Lil Durk and Young Thug Go Off on ‘Internet’ Thugs in New Banger
Lil Durk and Young Thug call out all those pesky keyboard thugs on “Internet,” a new banger those alleged online posers will be blasting for at least the next few weeks. You can listen to the song for yourself above.
The track, which is off DJ Bandz’s Chilanta 3 mixtape and Durk’s upcoming Love Songs for the Streets tape, sees Durk and Thugger get pretty aggressive, even as they dismiss the folks who only “Do it for the Internet.” The hook sees Durk simply repeat the phrase “You just do it for the Internet” before each rapper launches into their verse.
“You a killer with a gun emoji, and your baby daddy been a goofy,” Durk raps in the beginning of his verse. Later on “Pussy boy you ain’t been threat, talking trial boy I been to that,” he continues before chastising a would-be baller for never having bought a Bentley. For his part, Young Thug uses what is essentially his regular speaking voice as he finds time to brag and threatens to “clear this place” and blast fakers in their shameless faces.
This song makes it clear that Lil Durk is going for the chip in 2017. XXL recently caught up with the Chicago rapper to ask him about his plans over the next few months. “This was a dope project to work on,” he explained while speaking about his music video for “They Forgot. “I enjoyed collaborating with everyone who was a part of it. This video is for the title track of the EP so I thought it was only right to share a visual with the fans while I prepare to drop some new sh*t for the new year.”
Beginning on March 1, Durk will join YFN Lucci for Jeezy’s Trap or Die 3 tour. You can peep the show dates for yourself just below.
