It’s time to hit the brakes on talk of Lil Uzi Vert signing to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint. DJ Drama and Don Cannon, who signed the Philly rapper to their Generation Now label, have refuted recent reports that their artist inked a deal with Taylor Gang.

“Due to any confusion or contrary belief, Lil Uzi Vert is only ‘Signed’ to Generation Now, LLC!” Drama wrote on Twitter. Cannon echoed these sentiments in his own tweet about the situation. “Respectfully, we have alotta of love for Taylor Gang and Wiz, but Lil Uzi Vert is signed to Generation Now. Here is your answer.”

Media and fans alike assumed that Uzi joined the Taylor Gang after Wiz Khalifa welcomed the 2016 XXL Freshman to the team at a recent show in Philadelphia. In a video from the performance, Wiz clearly states that the “Money Longer” rapper is part of his crew now.

“Taylor Gang, we got Lil Uzi Vert now, welcome to the motherfuckin gang, nigga,” Wiz said. “Thank you for bringing me out to Philly. Thank you for being the most influential young nigga.”

When a fan asked for confirmation about Uzi’s signing via Twitter, Wiz Khalifa told him that the young rapper “definitely is gangster.” Uzi had also been seen repping Taylor Gang on his own Twitter account. It appears this bond is nothing more than an affiliation as Uzi is still under contract with Generation Now.
