iLoveMakonnen bravely came out as gay on social media in Jan. 2017, and he received a supportive and warm response by fans and many others. The Migos, however were not that impressed. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the group made some pretty insensitive comments regarding Makonnen’s sexual orientation, and it’s bound to get them in trouble.

Rolling Stone writer Jonah Weiner briefly detailed a moment in his candid interview with the rap trio, in which he mentioned Makonnen’s coming out. That mention then led to what Weiner described as “an awkward interlude.” And when he informed them that fans supported his announcement, Offset replied, “That’s because the world is fu**ed up.” Takeoff added, “This world is not right.” While Quavo asserted that they have “nothing wrong with the gays,” he suggested that Makonnen’s outing “undermines” his credibility as an artist.

In the past couple of months, the “T-Shirt” rappers have reached peak success. With their steady position on top of the charts for “Bad & Boujee” and the great reviews of their recent project Culture, the rap trio is living lavish. UPDATE:
The Migos took to Twitter Wednesday evening (Feb. 8) to publish their thoughts on a Rolling Stone interview that revealed their views on iLoveMakonnen’s sexual orientation.

“We are all fan’s of Makonnens music and we wish he didn’t feel like he ever had to hide himself,” the statement reads. “We feel the world is fu**ed up that people feel like they have to hide and we’re asked to comment on someone’s sexuality.”
