Nef The Pharaoh Drops ‘Spice’ Video Ahead of ‘The Chang Project’
Nef The Pharaoh is gearing up for a heavy 2017, and he’s just released the visuals for his latest song “Spice,” which comes with the official announcement of The Chang Project. The Vallejo rapper got Yhung T.O. of SOB x RBE for the track and filmed the video down in Austin, Texas during SXSW back in March. Watch the flick below.
The visuals were directed by Rexx Life Vari and shows footage of the two rappers performing at SXWSW as well as posing in the desert. While speaking on his inspiration for the track in a press release, the MC stated, “This song is about the elevation of my life. Just me being from the hood and making a 360 in a muthafuckin’ year,” he explains. “I pay my moms bills and do right in my life. After doing so much wrong, it feels good to do things right. I got here through hard work and dedication. I used to sit back and watch everything around me and learn. I would watch how E-40, G-Eazy, A$AP Ferg, and YG moved and I would take notes. I’d wonder ‘Why are they so successful?’ and I figured a plan that worked for me. I have my own pre-rolls and I just dropped my own wax. I have my own label and touring company, KILFMB. (Keep it Lit for my Brothers) I’m trying to be here for a long time.”
The Chang Project is set to arrive sometime this spring, and features production from P-Lo, Scorp Dezel, Arkitekz, Cal-A and Chris O’Bannon. It’s one of our most anticipated projects of the year, as 2016 was pure consistency for Nef thanks to Neffy Got Wings and Fresh Outta Space 3. He also told us he’s got a new project called 600 Degreez on the way with Sick Wid It newbie OMB Peezy.
