Earlier this year, a photo of a six-year-old kid from Afghanistan named Murtaza Ahmady wearing a Lionel Messi Argentina jersey made out of a plastic bag went viral online.

On Tuesday, with the help of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, or SC, Ahmady was able to meet his favorite player in Qatar when FC Barcelona faced Al-Ahli in an exhibition match. Before stepping onto the pitch, the little boy met Messi for the first time. “I’m very happy to have met my hero,” he told SC’s official website. “It is a dream for me. I can’t wait to see Messi at the game, it will be the first time for me in the stadium.”
