The Kardashians Try To Stop Blac Chyna From Trademarking Name
Model/Entrepreneur Blac Chyna has successfully become a part of the Kardashian family, but can she become a part of the Kardashian brand?
Ever since Chyna & Rob Kardashian’s whirlwind romance hit the Internet, rumors have been swirling that the K sisters are opposed to the union–but that didn’t stop the couple. They went on to announce their engagement, their baby, and launched a TV show in their namesake along with inking potential wedding TV special deals.
Now, Chyna seeks to take it up a notch by trademarking her full name Angela Renee Kardashian once she weds Rob.
Via People, the Kardashians opposed her lawyers petition to trademark the name. Walter Mosley, Chyna’s lawyer says this is the first trademark he’s filed on behalf of his client that has been rejected.
According to docs obtained by the site, the Kardashians previously stated they will “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill” if Chyna takes the Kardashian name. The documents also say that the mother of two is “deliberately seeking to profit from the goodwill and popularity” by changing her name.
So far, Chyna’s lawyer is playing nice, stating this could be a ‘misunderstanding.’
But considering Chyna is about to become sister-in-law, it would probably be in the crew’s best interests to put some respect on her name.
