Apple has been using Touch ID technology on all of their iPhones, iPads, and MacBook Pros since 2013. But according to reports, the brand might go away from using Touch ID on the new iPhone 8, which could prove to be bad news for those who have grown accustomed to using it. Apple is reportedly going to remove Touch ID from the iPhone 8 entirely and use a new Face ID facial recognition system instead that will allow people to unlock their phones simply by looking at the screen. It’s a big gamble on Apple’s part, and if Face ID doesn’t perform as well as the company is hoping, it could be a big blow to the entire brand.
