Aries Spears Doesn’t Hate Kevin Hart, Speaks on Kevin Using Stand Up Writers

Though Aries Spears believes fellow comedian Kevin Hart is “one of the most talented dudes in this game” and “knows how to work the camera,” he stands by his claim that Hart uses writers for his stand-up material. “If people are helping you write your material – which defines your greatness as a stand-up – shouldn’t there be an asterisk next to your name?” he questioned.

Unfortunately for comics they also have to deal with other aspiring comedians stealing their work. Aries Spears believes we’re at a time where the masses don’t care about stolen (or even ghostwritten) material, but notes the difference between someone outright taking credit for another’s jokes and comedians of the same race who speak on topics of the “same premise, [but have] totally different avenues of execution.” For that reason, Spears is not too fond of working with other Black comics. “Great minds think alike,” he reasoned.
