Rappers Bohemia and J. Hind sat down for an interview with VladTV, and in this clip, they speak about being pioneers in what they describe as Desi hip-hop. Bohemia explained that the genre was bound to come out at some point, but things took off for them specifically when they were in California.
Bohemia explained that he moved from Pakistan to San Francisco with his family when he was 14 and he didn’t know any English. From there, he started really getting into Desi poetry and music, and it was by chance that his poetry sounded like rap when it was played over music.
