Daz Dillinger Talks Kendrick Using Kurupt’s Line for “Control”

In this clip Daz speaks on Kendrick Lamar’s caustic “Control” verse that sent Hip-Hop into a frenzy, specifically the “king of New York” line that was borrowed from Kurupt’s 2010 collaboration “Get Bizy.”
The proven beatsmith harbors no animosity towards K. Dot, as he reveals that he quickly recognized the connection between Kurupt’s line and Kendrick’s on “Control,” saying, “Yeah, I caught that right away.” After conversing with Kurupt, Daz Dillinger believed that the “lil homie” Kendrick was built to endure whatever backlash would be directed his way.
Soon, Daz discusses the interconnectivity amongst Dr. Dre’s pupils adding, “We all stick together…I f*ck with everybody.” As the convo covers the evolution of the West Coast’s sound Daz expresses that Lamar has his attention. He says, “I got that sh*t in the car right now, ‘King Kunta!'”
