DeJ Loaf – Hold It Down

DeJ Loaf is currently working on her debut album Liberated, and she’s now released a brand new track following the announcement. “Hold It Down” arrives as part of DeJ’s #Dejember campaign, which should hold further releases this month. It follows her profile on Fader which dropped on the 1st, and perhaps kicked this all into gear.

“Hold It Down” finds DeJ further defining her sonic world. Buddah Bless This Beat provides a bouncier and heavier beat than we’re used to hearing from DeJ, but the periphery keys keep the ethereal quality her music has kept since she broke through with “Try Me.” She opts for an assured, strongly annunciated delivery on the verses, before breaking into her signature high-register croon on the hook.
