In 2014, China Mac was released after serving ten long years in prison for shooting one of Jin’s associates and sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV to reflect on his prison sentence and address his current situation with Jin.
He explained in great detail how he and a few others initially confronted Jin in the bathroom inside of a Chinatown bar when Jin’s associate came rushing in allegedly holding a knife, which resulted in China Mac shooting him in the back even though he intended to shoot him in the head. Mac was on the run from authorities for a year before he was arrested in Seattle, Washington while attempting to make his way past the Canadian border. He recalled cutting people for phone calls in Rikers Island, and how relieved he was when he got sentenced to 11 years because he initially thought that he was going to be doing life behind bars.
Mac claims that Jin pointed him out to the authorities in a photo lineup, which greatly contributed to his arrest. Two weeks before China Mac’s release, he received a letter from Jin for the first time in 10 years to clear the air. Jin explained in the letter how he’s grown and found his faith through God, and Mac replied by assuring him that there was no remaining bad blood between them. China Mac explained how he doesn’t believe that Jin “snitched” or “ratted” on him, because Jin is not a gangster, and therefore does not have to abide by the code of the streets. He believes that snitching only applies to those who are “about that life,” and if a regular citizen gives up information to the police about a certain situation, they are only doing what they are supposed to do.
