In a 2011 interview, the late Prodigy sat down with VladTV after serving a three-year prison sentence on a gun possession charge. The Queens legend outlines the details leading up to his arrest following producer The Alchemist’s birthday party and the subsequent police interrogation. Prodigy reveals that 50 Cent was at the center of the detectives’ interest that night while in custody. Prodigy even disclosed that the police were actively attempting to set up 50. P details how police questioned him about whether 50 Cent had any guns or drugs in his possession. But instead of complying with the police Prodigy relayed the information to alert 50 Cent that he was a police target.

The Queens legend died yesterday (June 20), and the hip-hop community showed a pouring of love to his character as a man and a rapper.
