In this emotional clip, Havoc of Mobb Deep describes being with Prodigy in the days leading up to his death and reflects on their friendship over the years. Havoc tells Vlad about the moment he learned that Prodigy had passed: “I knew it was a lie,” he says, “But when I came to the realization that it wasn’t a lie the s**t just f**ked me up. I felt like I was in a dream. I was pinching myself, literally. It had to be a dream. I couldn’t believe it.”
Havoc continues to speak about Prodigy’s legacy, kindness, and the unfortunate news that a mural dedicated to Prodigy in Queensbridge had been vandalized. But Havoc ended the interview on a positive note: “The last song Prodigy sang he was repping Queensbridge in ‘Shook Ones.'”
