J. Cole – False Prophets

J. Cole’s “False Prophets” is now available on streaming platforms.

J. Cole‘s “False Prophets” video is the best “riding on a bus” rap video this side of OG Swaggerdick’s “Nigga on the Bus.” While it is still only available for viewing as a part of Cole’s 40-minute “Eyez” documentary, the song is now available to listen on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud Go, and all streaming platforms.

Cole received the blessing from Joey Bada$$ to use the Freddie Joachim-produced beat from “Waves,” though Bada$$ jokingly declared that he still has the best “Waves” of all time. The track seemingly addresses Cole’s disillusionment with Kanye West and the despair of Cole’s friend Wale. Wale released “Groundhog Day” in response.

“Everybody Dies” is also available to stream.

Quotable Lyrics

When he tell us he a genius but it’s clearer lately
It’s been hard for him to look into the mirror lately
There was a time when this nigga was my hero, maybe
That’s the reason why his fall from grace is hard to take
‘Cause I believed him when he said his shit was purer and he
The type of nigga swear he real but all around him’s fake
The women, the dickriders, you know, the yes men
Nobody with the balls to say somethin’ to contest him
