https://www.vladtv.com – During a recent sit down with VladTV, Lil Herb spoke on growing up in an area of Chicago’s South Shore known as “Terror Town.”
“The name speaks for itself man. There’s a lot of killing, a lot of violence — it’s terrorism,” Herb explained when asked how the area got its nickname. “When I was growing up my mother wanted me nowhere near Terror Town,” Herb recalled, saying he didn’t really start hanging in the streets until he was around 15 years old.
Moving on, the Chi-Town emcee spoke on how he began running with the No Limit Muskegon Boys, aka Never Leave My Brothers, a gang found in Chicago’s southeast side. “We had control of our neighborhood and we was really keeping our neighborhood alive,” Herb explained, saying it would have been taken over by rival gangs if not for his circle.
The “Chi-raq” rapper then recalled an incident in which two guys with automatic weapons rolled up on him and his boys, resulting in eight people getting shot, including Herb who took a round in the foot. Herb says that after the shooting he toughened up and began reserving his sympathies for only those closest to him.
