Mathew Knowles: Tina Wanted Me to Quit Managing Beyonce Early On

https://www.vladtv.com – It goes without saying that Mathew Knowles’ biggest success in his career was during his days managing Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, but the famed businessman revealed to us that if he would have listened to his ex-wife things may not have turned out that way. He revealed that his ex-wife actually wanted him to stop pursuing music, as he explained that “my wife at the time made those comments that I should go back to work.”
After explaining that he always had a vision of making Destiny’s Child successful, Mathew revealed the biggest failures he had along the way, including the girls getting dropped from Electra Records. While he said he didn’t understand the decision at the time, Knowles said that after running his own label he sees why the deal didn’t work out.
During the conversation Mathew also addressed a question about similarities between himself and Joe Jackson, seeing as how they both have mega stars as children that they managed. The businessman and author explained that he doesn’t see many likenesses in himself and Michael Jackson’s father, but Mathew added, “It appears our approach [to management] has no similarities whatsoever.”
