Miki Howard Shares Personal Stories from All Aspects of her Career + “Love Under New Management”

This Sunday, June 12th marks the debut date for the TV One film “Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story.” Outlining her career from an early age, the biopic takes the viewer through many stories behind the life of the multitalented singer and songwriter.
Joining Sway in the Morning along with woman portraying her in the film, Teyonah Parris, and Darius McCrary who plays Gerald Levert, the three speak on how things came together. While Darius has known Howard as well as Levert for some time, Parris speaks on meeting Howard just a few weeks before filming. Speaking on Howard’s infectious energy, she admits that she had a lot of work to do to prepare for the role.
As the interview progresses we hear Hoaward and the crew open up much more as they laugh and joke with each other about their friendship. As Sway begins to dig deeper into the story Hoaward takes the reins and fills us in on many details of her life and career. From her previous marriages to her drug addiction to dating Eazy E she holds nothing back and the whole room bonds together.
