https://www.vladtv.com – Rapper Mopreme Shakur has recalled countless tales from Tupac’s life, but one event he’s not too fond of is ‘Pac’s bout with Albert and Allen Hughes, the twin brothers responsible for “Menace II Society,” “The Book of Eli,” and “Dead Presidents.” “The Hughes Brothers…do we gotta talk about them?” Mopreme asked with a grimace.
Here’s the backstory: Tupac was set to appear in their film “Menace II Society” as Caine’s Muslim comrade Sharif around the same time he shot “Poetic Justice” with Janet Jackson. That’s when, according to Mopreme, the brothers “started to get fly” and disrespected ‘Pac for arriving late to rehearsal, which as we all know didn’t end well. “I know they got punched several times and one of them ran. That’s all I know,” Mopreme recalled. Albert and Allen – who are responsible for Tupac’s video “Brenda’s Got a Baby” – ended up taking the “Ambitionz Az A Ridah” emcee to court, and according to his step-brother, “‘Pac was not having it at all.”
Watch on as Mopreme remembers how ‘Pac “helped put them on in the game,” and why in the end, it was ultimately a respect issue between the three above.
