Nebu Kiniza Talks Meaning of His Name, Making “Gassed Up” in 15 Minutes

Nebu Kiniza jumped on the hip-hop scene in a big way this year with his hit song “Gassed Up,” which he revealed was recorded in just 15-minutes off of a YouTube beat. When asked if he went in the studio to multitrack the song, Nebu told DJ Vlad that he left it in the original recording as-is for radio play and the video.
When asked to explain the origin of his name, Nebu revealed that his aunt joked with his mom about naming him after the Assyrian King of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, Nebuchadnezzar. After hearing the story and researching the name, which means “Golden One” and “Being Originally Great and Artistic.”
