Philippines Government is Slaughtering its’ Citizens ‘Like Animals’

Another nation is dealing with the fallout of a controversial figure rising to power: the Philippines. In June 2016, the nation elected Rodrigo Duterte as their 16th president.
Prior to becoming president, Duterte was the Mayor of Davao City, a coastal commercial center on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao. At 71, Duterte is the oldest president to assume office in the Philippines. During his campaign, Duterte took a hard on the war against drugs. He even went so far as to announce that he would be “happy to slaughter” all drug addicts and dealers, likening himself to Hitler. Ultimately, he won the election.
