In this clip, RJ spoke about the passing of his father and the impact that had on him at the age of 19. He explained the toll it took on him and the role he felt he had to assume following his dad’s death. RJ said that his father told him to stop banging and focus on music while on his deathbed but RJ admits that he didn’t immediately take heed to his message. Down the line RJ ended up with a felony for a crime he didn’t commit and found himself on a similar path as those who came before him n the streets. Almost hitting a reset button, RJ moved to Atlanta with his mom when he was 24 and began honing his craft.
Later, RJ revealed how he got linked up with YG and DJ Mustard after returning to LA from the ATL.
