Robert Glasper on “Miles Ahead,” Working W/ The Roots & J Dilla + Plays 5 Fingers of Death on Keys

With his new album “Everything’s Beautiful” dropping on Friday, Robert Glasper joins Sway in the Morning. Following his work scoring the new Miles Davis doc starring and directed by Don Cheadle titled “Miles Ahead,” Glasper opens up about his relationships with some of music’s finest.
From going to school with Bilal to staying with J Dilla in Detroit and playing with The Roots, Glasper’s musical influence runs incredibly deep.
Speaking on being a classically trained musician he opens up about how being trained is the key to get more work right away, you need to play in the settings of certain genre’s to get familiar with the work. Dipping his hand in the hip hop pot Glasper worked on 8 songs on “To Pimp A Butterfly.”
Before ending this incredible interview he makes SITM history by playing keys over the 5 Fingers Of Death, improvising sweet melodies for the whole crew.
