American hip hop-generation author, activist, recording artist, and film producer, SISTER SOULJAH, paid us a visit on Sway in the Morning. She not only talked about her new book, A Moment of Silence: Midnight III, but she also weighed in on the racial tension at Mizzou, Orange is the New Black netflix original and stories from her time with Public Enemy.

It’s clear that Sister Souljah is a leader, but sometimes her creativity is swiped. Could Orange is the New Black be copyright infringement? Possibly, but advice from her husband keeps her pen pushing.

“Sister, we just create, and we just keep creating.” Her husband says. “They wait, and they keep copying. And we keep creating. They can’t catch up to us, because we are the original creators of it.”

Souljah, goes on to explain why she’s not interested in going to court and dealing with the legalities of it. “Just keep creating.”

While in studio, she also gives us some never-before-stories from her time with Public Enemy! Watch below for more and grab her new book A Moment of Silence: Midnight III.
