Gokul Venkatachalam is lighting up the Internet right now because not only did he just win the Scripps National Spelling Bee, the 14-year-old did it while rocking a crisp pair of “Legend Blue” Air Jordan XIs.
The win comes as a bittersweet victory for the St. Louis native since last year he finished third and it was the first time the competition was tied for first place. Tonight, it was Gokul’s turn to make history as he tied for first place with fellow contestant Vanya Shivashankar.
We did some digging into his previous competition appearances and it’s confirmed that the kid’s a legit sneakerhead. Not only that, he’s also an insane LeBron James fan and even wore a LeBron jersey under his dress shirt tonight.
From his myriad regional competitions to tonight’s fourth appearance on the national stage, we’ve highlighted some of Gokul’s dopest sneakers.
