SRC Records founder Steve Rifkind has been behind some of the most important and influential hip-hop acts of all time, including New Edition, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Big Pun, and Joell Ortiz. He sat down with VladTV to talk about how he got his start: going on the road at 18 years old, linking up with New Edition, and working on their album Heart Break. Steve also brings Vlad back to growing up in a musical family in Long Island, meeting James Brown as a kid, and his parents turning him on to black music at an early age. View the clip above.
