‘Suicide Squad’ Beat ‘Deadpool’ for Oscar Nod & People Are Pissed

If we’re allowed to keep it ? for a moment, nobody was happy that Deadpool, one of the illest movies of 2016, didn’t get an Oscar nomination.Nobody was expecting it to, but I wanted it to. While it might be fun to say that the hard R-rated surprise hit was “snubbed” during this year’s Oscars, I wasn’t with the people who thought it actually would get an Oscar nomination. We can joke about it, but c’mon. The Oscars aren’t really here for superhero films, even if they are of The Dark Knight caliber. Most didn’t even expect Deadpool to be this fire; it being in the running for an Oscar? That was over and above.
