https://www.vladtv.com – Ever since the release of his debut mixtape, “Road To Fazoland,” Chicago rapper Lil Herb has appeared on a slew of tracks with some of the biggest artists of our time. When his track “Chiraq” with Nicki Minaj was mentioned, he says “she reached out to me because she f*** with my style.” He’s also gone to work with Common, who even used a photo of Lil Herb on the cover of his 2014 effort, “Nobody’s Smiling.” The young artist has come a long way from his gang-related past, and now that he’s set to drop “Ballin’ Like I’m Kobe,” the 19-year-old is bent on stardom so he can better him and his family’s situation.
Growing up in one of the most dangerous cities in America, Lil Herb did his best not to become a product of his environment, one where even kids can purchase guns for less than $100. “There’s guns everywhere, bro, like, they’re falling out the sky,” he tells us during his interview. Nevertheless, G Herbo is at a point in his life where he no longer has to prove anything to anyone, but unfortunately he’s forced into situations he can’t control. Case in point, a brawl in Indiana that resulted in bottles being thrown during one of his shows.
At one point during his conversation with VladTV, Lil Herb touched on his past drug use. Though he’s now “pro-cannabis,” that wasn’t always the case. In the few years he drank lean, he claims to have spent at least $50,000 on the addictive habit. He’s now two months clean, and on top of the anticipated mixtape he says is “pretty much” done, Lil Herb is taking courses to earn his high school diploma.
Find out more about his Chi-town upbringing, who he wants to appear on “Ballin’ Like I’m Kobe,” and hear him explain why Chet Haze “might be kinda right” when it comes to using the n-word on the latest Vlad Couch podcast above.
