While he had other family members die in the past, Tito Jackson said that none were more devastating than when his brother Michael suddenly passed away in 2009. Tito spoke about getting the news from his sister Janet after learning that Michael was rushed to the hospital, but he didn’t get there in time to say goodbye. When asked about Dr. Conrad Murray’s involvement in Michael’s death, Tito says that he does believe that he was at fault in prescribing the singer such high doses of medication.
During the conversation, Tito also spoke about Barry Gordy calling Michael one of the greatest entertainers of all time during the singer’s funeral, which Tito agreed with. He explained that he always knew that Michael was going to be a star, even before the Motown days. He added that the “Billie Jean” singer thought about things in a different way, as he points out the origins of his famous moonwalk dance. Tito revealed that Michael and his brothers used to do the dance for fun as kids, but none of them ever thought about putting it on their show, except for Michael.
