In this clip, Yung Tory goes in depth about his upbringing as a Rasta. Yung Tory described his childhood growing up in a Rastafarian household with both parents following the religion. He revealed having never eaten meat before in his life, his mother not wearing any makeup, and confessed that he’s not the strongest follower of the Rastafarian religion but considers himself a follower of the culture. Yung Tory also broke down the contradictions he finds in his lifestyle as a rapper and his upbringing in Rastafarianism. According to Yung Tory, he’s technically not even supposed to be a rapper considering the content he raps about. But he explained that he’s his own person and “not like every other Rasta you walking around wearing red, gold, and green.”
