You may have seen the 20 or more Giuseppe shoes named after the famed rapper floating around the Internet, but the Queens native has yet to receive one penny from these creations she inspired, especially after the designer gave artists their own capsule collections.
The “Monster” rapper took to Instagram and Twitter to call upon her loyal following to trend hashtags that were meant to call the attention of Zanotti, who the mogul claims won’t take a call with her and her agency.
This is wonderful. #GiuseppeZanotti seems to think it’s ok to name his sneakers after me but his PR says they won’t take our call. Lol.

I met #GiuseppeZanotti years ago. At which time, he told me I inspired him to design a sneaker in my honor. Wore them on the cover of Cosmo

Since Minaj started the campaign, all shoes named after her have been removed from the brand’s website. The Young Money signee made it clear that she feels his actions stem from a place of “racism and disrespect.” Minaj went as far as to say the money isn’t the issue. The platinum-selling artist suggested the designer even give some money to charity in her name instead, but the unwillingness to communicate is unacceptable.
Don’t care about the money. It’s just the disrespect. You’re not taking MY call? Lol. Give some money to charity in my name or smthn.
