PartyNextDoor has been keeping it low-key for a while now but the news he just dropped via social media probably has made a lot of his fans happy.

On Thursday (March 16), during the 2017 MTV Woodies, PartyNextDoor brought home the award for Songwriter of the Year. He went on to thank MTV, the Woodies and his fans for the award via Instagram and within the caption, the Canada-based singer stated that he has new music on the way.

“Writer of the year, thank you @mtv God is the greatest,” PND says. “This was a goal of mine coming off that world tour in ’15. New music for this spring/summer and thank you to my fans!!”

PartyNextDoor has been the center of attention since the beginning of 2017, and for various reasons. In January, he joined forces with Nick Minaj and Major Lazer for “Run Up.” Although he and the Young Money artist teamed up for that record, a little back and forth happened between himself, Nicki and some music lovers upon the release of her new song “Regret in Your Tears.” There were some rumors that the OVO Sound artist wrote the song for Nicki. Of course she set the record straight right away.

“PartyNext Door had NOTHING to do w/ #RegretInYourTears,’ Nicki tweeted.

He then resorted to his Twitter account to respond to the allegations and also stated that the two have a song together. Shorty after the tweet, he deleted it.

“I’m a fan of nicki minaj, We have a song together, i hope she’s as cool & as I’ve always imagined,” PND tweeted.

PND also had his hand in creating DJ Khaled’s new song “Shining” featuring Jay Z and Beyonce. This record is the first single off of Khaled’s forthcoming album, Grateful. The R&B sensation has definitely been working hard.
