With the release of his album Mr. L.A. set to arrive in exactly a week (May 26), Los Angeles’ own RJ returns with a darkly vibrant new visual for his DJ Mustard and Larry Jay-produced, modern G-Funk anthem, “Brackin.”

Tinted in blood red, the new video finds the L.A. rapper in his element, popping bottles in the club with his crew as a night filled with liquor and loud music unfolds. “I came a long way to ball in your section/I order bottles you order protection/I’m from the bottom it ain’t much expected/I bring the bondoms and you bring your bestie,” he rhymes.

Of course, it wouldn’t be right for a song with such confrontational lyrics to be left without a little bit static, so eventually, RJ ends up in a vicious street fight. RJ wins, and of course, he walks away with the girl.

The new visual is just the latest bit of activity from the Cali vet who appears poised to make a serious impact on a national scale. His forthcoming album, Mr. L.A., is all set to include plenty of bangers and features from the likes of Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, ScHoolboy Q, YG and Blac Youngsta. Production will be handled by DJ Mustard, Authentic, Larry J, Swish, Mitch, J Holt, Feezy and Mike WiLL Made-It. Sounds dope.

You can pre-order Mr. L.A. on iTunes now. Peep his new video for “Brackin” below.
