Solange To Perform At NYC’s Guggenheim Museum In May

It’s safe to argue that Solange’s A Seat At The Table is a work of art so it only seems right that it be presented inside a museum, and it looks that’s exactly what will happen. Solange has reportedly been scheduled to perform at New York’s Guggeheim Museum on May 18. The “interdisciplinary” performance will reportedly serve as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Festival, according to reports.

The “Cranes in the Sky” singer will reportedly play a set in the museum’s rotunda, where she will reimagine singles from her album both visually and sonically. The performance is being described as “a meditation, examining themes from A Seat at the Table through movement, installation work, and experimentation through re-constructing musical arrangements,” according to a statement released from Red Bull Academy.

Solange isn’t the only musical act Red Bull Academy has lined up for this spring. The brand has also locked in a “throwback piano bar show” in New York City with special guests Gucci Mane and Zaytoven on May. 16.
