In a recent candid conversation, former Army Ranger Nicholas Irving weighed in on the troubling disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC host Savannah Guthrie. Three weeks after Nancy, who is in her 80s and reliant on medication and a pacemaker, was kidnapped, Irving highlighted the grim reality: the odds of finding her alive diminish drastically with time. “After 72 hours, chances drop significantly. Now, after three weeks, it’s very slim,” Irving explained. He emphasized that the kidnappers likely did not anticipate the national spotlight the case received, which has made it nearly impossible for them to negotiate or safely return her. Irving also reflected on the emotional toll on families enduring such nightmares and urged the public to keep the Guthrie family and others facing similar situations in their thoughts and prayers. The ongoing search underscores the devastating impact of such incidents, especially involving vulnerable seniors.
