Nicholas Irving says he sees “no way” a new Iran deal is reached within the next 60 days, arguing that negotiations will likely be extended and could leave the U.S. with little to show for the conflict. Speaking with Shawn Prez, Irving compared the timeline to the original JCPOA, which took from 2013 to 2015 to finalize, calling any rapid agreement unrealistic.

Irving predicted that any eventual deal would likely resemble the old Iran nuclear agreement, with only minor wording changes, and could even be worse for U.S. interests. He argued Iran is playing the situation strategically by avoiding full rejection while waiting for financial and political gains.

Prez agreed, saying Trump may “spin” the outcome as a win, but doubted the U.S. would secure a better deal. Both suggested the Strait of Hormuz reopening should not be viewed as a major victory.
