Southwest Flyer’s Meltdown Caught on Bodycam
A travel nightmare at Orlando International Airport spiraled into chaos when passenger Selomit Velez-Rodriguez allegedly smashed Southwest gate monitors, kicked an employee, and caused thousands in damage after her flight was delayed over a maintenance issue. Viral cellphone video captured the explosive meltdown as Velez-Rodriguez, distraught over a family emergency involving her dying brother, admitted to police that she “hit all the monitors” in frustration while demanding another flight home. She was arrested on battery, criminal mischief, and resisting charges, spent more than a month in jail before release, and now faces a pretrial intervention program that could ultimately lead to the case being dismissed.
