TAILS' Tragic BACKSTORY Will Shock You – SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3… #shorts
Tails is one of the cutest characters in the Sonic franchise, but his backstory is incredibly dark. He’s lost his parents, faced near-drowning in a swamp, and even had his soul punched out! You’d think his nickname, “Tails,” would just come from having two tails, but there’s more to it. Designer Yasushi Yamaguchi originally wanted to call him Miles Prower, but the team decided on “Tails” instead—a pretty terrible pun. In some versions, bullies gave him the name as an insult for being a “twin-tailed freak,” which is similar to Daredevil’s origin. Tails was born on the day Dr. Robotnik took over, meaning he’s never known peace. His father became a cyborg at Tails’ birth, and his mother was abducted by aliens. Growing up in an orphanage, Tails believed they were dead—only to find out years later they were alive. In various adaptations, Tails has faced immense challenges, from being rejected by birds to drowning in an alternate universe. The pain of abandonment haunts him, and he suffers even more in games like Sonic Forces, where he believes Sonic is dead.
