The Wild Story About What Happened to Evander Holyfield’s Ear After Mike Tyson Bit It Off

On June 28, 1997, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield took part in one of the craziest fights in boxing history. It ended shortly after Tyson bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear and spit it out inside of the ring before attempting to do the same thing to his other ear. A doctor was able to stitch Holyfield’s ear up after the fight, but the skin and cartilage that Tyson spit out were lost so the doctor couldn’t reattach them. No one seems to know what happened to the piece of Holyfield’s ear that went missing.
