In a recent interview, Wayno reflected on his time replacing Joe Budden on Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” alongside Akademiks from 2018 to 2020. Despite the show’s popularity, Wayno revealed that “Everyday Struggle” ultimately ended because it wasn’t financially sustainable for Complex, even though the hosts were well compensated. He described the experience as unexpected, noting that media wasn’t originally part of his career plans but it “just happened.” Vlad also mentioned a potential reboot involving Azealia Banks and Wayno, but the idea never materialized due to lack of full support within Complex.
After “Everyday Struggle” concluded, Wayno shifted focus to the music industry, serving as Vice President at Asylum Records from 2019 to 2021. He spoke highly of his work with Detroit artist Sada Baby, hinting at their successful collaboration on a notable hit record cleared thanks to Birdman.
