You Won't View Black Lives Matter The Same After Hearing This Disturbing New Info
Last year Patrisse Cullors resigned from the Black Lives Matter organization amidst rumblings about the way in which she chose to spend the company’s charitable donations. The co-founder of BLM may have vacated her position with the company, but the ripple effects surrounding her budgeting practices are still going strong.
Newly released tax filings revealed how Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors used charity funds to pay her friends and family large sums for various ‘consulting’ services, as well as charter a private flight.
The documents reveal that BLM paid a company owned by Damon Turner, the father of Cullors’ child, nearly $970,000 to help ‘produce live events’ and provide other ‘creative services.’
The co-founder’s brother, Paul Cullors, received more than $840,000 for providing security services to the foundation.
In addition to the aforementioned payouts, it is being reported that Patrisse redirected charitable donations intended for BLM to her friends, several members of her family, and for the usage of a private jet. This is rather eye-opening because when Patrisse was with the company, she served as the board’s one and only voting director (with no board meetings). Conceptually, this gave her the power to decide who the company hired and how their dollars were spent.
One reason why Patrisse and the other co-founders of BLM have come under fire because of their spending is that their company is listed as a non-profit organization. This appears to be a concept that may have been overlooked by at least one of BLM’s original proprietors
