We recently sat down with Milwaukee artist Munch Lauren for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about the culture in Milwaukee, jumping off the porch when he was 16, growing up in poverty, coming up on the Northside of Milwaukee, explains what inspired him to start rapping, listening to a lot of different types of music, his thoughts on the buzzing music scene in Milwaukee right now, explains the type of sound that is coming out of the city right now, getting his props for helping to create the sound coming out of the city, explains how he got his rap name, his single “Dummy Azz” taking off back in 2012, being nicknamed the “King Of Clubs”, creating the Milwaukee anthem “Big Money”, Jordan Poole recently playing the song on his IG after he signed his big contract, the creative process for his hit single “Cheeks 2” featuring Bankhead who recently passed away, Cheeksfest event, being creative with his music videos, his new EP ‘I Can Smell My Flowers’, plans to drop 12 EPs this year, music video for “Green Light”, starting off making beats, his growth as an artist, puts us on to some Milwaukee lingo, being an independent artist, advice for the youth, and much more!
