Here’s What Happened When Remy Ma Was Asked to Finish a Nicki Minaj Lyric on VH1’s ‘Hip-Hop Squares’

The beef between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma appears to have simmered down within the last few weeks; however, Remy’s recent appearance on VH1’s Hip-Hop Squares reminded everyone that there was some awkward tension way before everything popped off.

On this week’s episode, Remy was quizzed about the lyrics from Nicki’s 2014 hit “Anaconda.” When asked what comes after the line “Put his butt to sleep ____,” Remy responded by calling out The Pinkprint rapper’s predictability.

“You know what I’m kinda thinking that she was would have said something about her butt, because that’s always like the every other two bars,” Remy said before other contestants accused her of throwing shade. “The name of the song is ‘Anaconda,’ you have to talk about your assets! Where’s the anaconda gonna go? […] I’m actually a big Nicki Minaj fan and I know all her lyrics. And her next line is ‘Now I’m eating some tacos.'”

Well, she apparently doesn’t know all of Nicki’s lyrics, as the actual line was: “Now he’s calling me NyQuil.”

As pointed out by BET, this episode was filmed back in 2016, months before the female MCs exchanged shots in a series of diss tracks, including Remy’s much-talked about “shETHER.”
