It Looks Like J. Cole Is Dropping a New Album Next Week
Is J. Cole dropping a new album next week? An iTunes pre-order listing has popped up for what definitely appears to be a new J. Cole album entitled 4 Your Eyez Only. Though no track names have been made available, the project looks to span 10 tracks and is once again a Dreamville release. The album is expected to drop Dec. 9.
During his headlining set at New York City’s Meadows Music and Arts Festival in October, Cole shocked fans by declaring the performance would be his last before taking a bit of a break. Though Cole didn’t elaborate at the time, many started to speculate on impending new music from the Dreamville boss. “Before I get out of here, listen,” Cole told the Meadows audience. “This is my last show for a very long time.”
2014 Forest Hills Drive, strategically released in 2014, is J. Cole’s most recent studio album. The featureless album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, ultimately earning a 2x platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) earlier this year.
Will the album have features? If not, will it go platinum without them? Does shit like that even matter at all? This story is developing. We should know more soon.
