Watch Drake’s Performance of “Gyalchester” at the Billboard Music Awards
Hype behind Drake’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards 2017 was described as “memorable.” Of course, The Boy delivered a moment worth remembering with a performance of “Gyalchester” at the Fountains of Bellagio. There were fireworks, too.
Drake is a dominant force on the Billboard charts, with his “One Dance” single earning him Billboard’s title of Song of the Summer in 2016. The following year, after the release of More Life, he broke his own record for the most simultaneous hits on the Hot 100 with 24 songs in March. He surpassed his mentor Lil Wayne, who has 135 hits. The achievement was supported by Drake’s large streaming numbers as reported in April when the More Life tracks surpassed one billion U.S. streams.
Drake’s on track to break the all-time record for most awards in one year at the BBMAs. He’s already won Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Album, Top Rap Tour, Top R&B Song, Top R&B Collaboration, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Streaming Song (Audio), Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Streaming Songs Artist.
During the broadcast, Drake won Top Male Artist, and thanked his fans for the award.
He also won Top Billboard 200 Album and gave an epic acceptance speech thanking Ludacris, Wayne, and Nicki.
Drake even won Top Artist and broke the record for most Billboard awards in 2017 with 13. But, the artist who still holds the most wins is Taylor Swift with a whopping 21.
