Teairra Mari: The Girl Who Was Almost Rihanna

Many of you might know Teairra Mari from Love and Hip Hop. But did you know before that, she was poised to become the next big thing in Pop & R&B? Teairra was signed to Roc Nation and Def Jam as a teenager. She had support from the likes of Jay-Z and L.A. Reid. But it all changed one day when Beyonce told L.A. Reid that Teairra’s labelmate, a 17-year-old Rihanna, was the one to watch. After low album sales, Teairra was dropped from Def Jam. Though she continued to sing and release music, her career definitely hasn’t reached the heights that seemed likely back in 2005. Now, she’s most known for her stint on Love and Hip Hop, and her battles with people like Ray-J, Hazel E, and 50 Cent.
